Tuesday June 2nd

We were tired and sleep in until 10:00 am today. I call and talk with Patti at Generation Model Management and we are going to go see her tomorrow at 2:30pm. We decide to take our first trip into the city. Kendall wanted to go to the American Girl Store to have her doll’s hair curled. We walked about fifteen blocks to the Path which is the New Jersey subway that will take us into the city. I am not sure which ticket to buy or which train to get onto so I ask someone standing nearby. We take the subway to the last stop, 33rd St. in the city. We have about 16 blocks to walk to get to the American Girl Store on 49th St. We walk part of the way when Kendall gets tired and we get a taxi the rest of the way ($4.50). Kendall has her doll’s hair curled and is happy to be at the AG Store. She tells me her doll “Nikki” needs to take care of her teeth and needs a toothbrush and we end up buying a toothbrush kit for her doll. The kit comes with a retainer which she thinks is neat since she says “I am getting braces too.” We walk part of the way back to the Path and take a taxi the rest of the way. The owner calls and says he is sending over a cleaning lady and to meet her in the front lobby at 4:00pm. She cleans the apartment for two hours and when she is finished the apartment looks great. Kendall wants to go swimming here at the Sky Club. The pool is in a fitness center with a café and a juice bar. There are sliding glass doors which are open when we arrive. Through the open doors you can see New York City across the river. Kendall is happy to go swimming. When she finishes it is about 8:30 pm. We go to the Shop Rite to get groceries. We take a taxi. Taxi’s here are five dollars any where in the city of Hoboken. You have to call for a taxi. It is not like being in New York and there are taxi’s waiting on the street. We are at Shop Rite for almost an hour and I am getting tired. I have a cart full of groceries to get back. I call for the taxi. A town car arrives and takes us back to the Sky Club. The doorman comes out with a shopping cart and helps to place our groceries into the cart. We take them up the apartment. I cannot believe how easy it was to get so many groceries back. Once we are back we are able to get onto the web cam and talk with Tom. Kendall and I are happy to see him. We go to bed around midnight.
