Sunday June 14th

Tom went back home today. We will miss him and are looking forward to him coming over the 4th of July. Kendall and I went to a childrens festival in Hoboken today at Pier a Park. We had not been to Pier a Park and were suprised at how beautiful the park is. Pier a Park is a park that is bordered on three sides by the Hudsen River and you can see New York City a short distance across the river. There is a path around the park, along the river which is tree lined. It is beautiful. Today they held a free event for children with free rides and facepainting, which we stood in line for for two hours(no joke) for a fancy facepainting. How could I refuse. Kendall was excited to have other children to play with while waiting in line. It was alot of fun for her. On Wednesday eveings they have movies under the stars in the park. After the festival Kendall and I walked down Washington Street, the main street in Hoboken, something else we had not yet done. There are many restaraunts, bars and little grocery stores with outdoor fruit stands and flowers. We stopped in a bakery and bought some cookies for the concierge who was very kind in helping us get the gas turned on. It was a good day.
